Happy Birthday Ansley!

Yes, this is my very proud three year old. She had been looking forward to her birthday for weeks and having the Backyardigans as her theme and she was SO excited when the day finally arrived. We started the morning off at Chuck E. Cheese followed by lunch at Chick-fil-a. She proudly bounced around all day in her birthday shirt telling everyone that she was "free yeers ole." We had a small party at home this year but all the Backyardigans balloons made it feel like we had a crowd. The girls had swimming lessons that afternoon so I waited until they were gone to pull out everything and decorate. When Ansley walked in and saw all the balloons she was over the moon (whew, mission accomplished!) I held out hope that the cake topper would arrive in the afteroon mail but unfortunately it didn't. I looked at the clock and had about 15 min. to get the cake decorated so I grabbed some icing, threw it in a bag and tried my luck at decorating. I was so nervous and rushed, my hands were shaking like I was having withdrawals. Let me tell you, I have a whole new appreciation for people who decorate cakes! I'm still bummed that the cake topper didn't arrive because I had been planning this special cake for over a month and had been so excited about it. In the end it didn't matter because cutting it open and seeing all the bright colors made you forget about what it looked like on the outside (whew!) All in all it was a great day for Ansley!
