Happy Birthday Mother!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOTHER!

I just wanted to tell you how much I love you and I am so blessed and thankful to God that YOU are MY mother. You are my inspiration as a mother and even though you are always telling me what a great mom I am, I have to give you all the credit because I am just passing on the love that I received from you. I hope you have a wonderful day and I wish we could be there to celebrate with you.
We love you so very much!

What a relief!!

Moving day is fast approaching. I've been trying to pack things up around here but today has been almost pointless. Ansley hasn't felt very well so she has either cried or wanted me to hold her all day long. It's turned a 4 hour job into an 8 hour task. A lot of my stress has been wondering how we are going to run all our miscellaneous things over to the new house on Sunday AND be there for the cable guy, AND have the girls cooperate so we can get it done before the movers begin moving the big things and storage unit on Monday. STRESS, STRESS, STRESS!! Did I mention that the new owners want to begin moving their things in on Tuesday morning so this entire place has to be cleaned and carpets steamed by Monday night? Yeah.....STRESS!!! Well, fortunately my stress has just gone away (thank you Lord!) I just got off the phone with the real estate agent and he said he would meet me tomorrow morning and go ahead and give us the keys to start moving a few things in at our leisure this week (I'm doing my happy dance right now!) What a HUGE relief!! Now I feel like we can move all the misc. items over to the house and be rested and ready for the movers on Monday morning......WOO HOO!!!! Our new home....at least for a year!!

Six Flags...more flags....more fun!

While the cousins were here we all took a trip to Six Flags. We had so much fun we stayed until the park closed. It reminded me of the times each summer when mother would bring us and we would eat funnel cakes and ride rides. We would always stay til the park closed down and wish we had longer.

Yesterday we endured 11 FULL hours of Six Flags.....woo hoo!!!

Family Fun

This past weekend we had a family reunion so we hosted a family....or two....or three. I love it when family is in town because we get to spend quality time together and we always have a wonderful time. We had anywhere from 8-12 kids here at any given time so as you can imagine there was never a dull moment. One of the most fun things for the kids each night was when Adam would give his "ghost clown basement tour." All the kids would line up and march downstairs in the basement with Adam armed with only a flashlight. The house we live in now has an enormous finished basement but there are lots of different areas that are used as storage and look very different in the dark. Seeing them all together having such a good time reminded me of a game we used to play as kids called "the dark." In retrospect it was a cheesy game where we would just run around in the dark and scare each other but it was so much fun. I think the kids totally bonded with Adam after that and he is now more popular than ever! :-)

Oh Yes we did!!

Today was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A. Anyone dressed in full cow costume received a free combo meal and naturally, in the spirit of fun, Aunt KK insisted everyone dress up and have a fun (and FREE) lunch!!

Dare I say the words?

Those two sweet little words that get mom's so excited......potty trained!

Well, I guess I can officially say it now.....Ansley is potty trained. I thought maybe she would be a bit more difficult but all the advice rang true. It happened when SHE was ready. Once she was ready, she hit the pavement running and hasn't looked back. The one thing I did find was that she's not a huge fan of pull-ups. She much prefers her "pay-pay's" so I don't even attempt to put her in a diaper or pull-up at night anymore because she will have no part of it. It was like her attitude was all or nothing. So far she has not had an accident at night but I'm still keeping the towels on the bed just in case. :-)

Michael Jackson- Billie Jean [1983] (Motown 25 Live)

I promise this is my LAST MJ post. I just had to post this one because we were watching it yesterday and Adam was trying to moonwalk while Sarah was singing Billie Jean is not my mother!

This is the original performance of Billie Jean at the Motown 25th anniversary in 1983. I just watched a documentary on this and they said he improvised all of these dance moves as he was singing. Originally he was just supossed to sing a number with his brothers but he said he would participate only if they let him perform a solo as well. Little did anyone know at the time but this would be the live performance that skyrocketed him as a solo artist and have everyone trying to moonwalk.

This is all I will dedicate to Michael. I hope he found peace and is with the Lord.

The Music of Michael Jackson - 2009

Recently since the death of Michael Jackson there has been coverage non-stop of his life, his legacy, and his music. Upon hearing songs she likes Sarah will ask..."mommy, who sings this song?" It seems like each time she asks it just so happens to be a MJ song from the 80's (my favorite MJ era.) Along with all the old hits, she has seen lots of pictures of him in all his different stages and has asked many questions about why his skin turned from brown to white. Now when she hears a song instead of asking who sings it she asks "is this when he was brown skin or white skin?" She also informed me that she likes his brown skin music much better than his white skin music. Me too Sarah! :-)
