We've been "BOO"ed

This goodie bag is really small but looks larger in the picture

Last night right before the girls were about to climb into bed we heard a knock at the door and our doorbell ring. Adam was downstairs so he did the honor of seeing who was here while the girls and I hung our heads over the landing eager to see who was visiting us at this hour. When he opened the door no one was there BUT he found two little goodie bags on our doorstep. We opened the bags up and found out we had been "BOO"ed!!! The girls were squealing with delight at the sight of these surprise bags and inside was some candy, and a few other goodies. There were also instructions on how to play the game with others and a picture to put on our front door so we wouldn't be "BOO"ed twice. We were all so excited thinking about who could have "BOO"ed us and who else we could "BOO", it took us a whole hour to settle down and get to sleep. The girls enjoyed the surprise element so much I wanted to share it in case anyone else wanted to play in their own neighborhood.

The air is cool, the season fall.
Soon Halloween day will come to all.
Your friends are after things to do
One of them, in fact, brought this "BOO" to you!

The excitement comes when friends like you,
Copy this note and make it two.
We'll all have smiles upon our faces.
No one will know who has "BOO"ed who's places!

Please join the fun.
The time is here
So spread the "BOO"'s
to far and near

Please place this BOO on your front door
and make sure you BOO other neighbors of yours!

Birthday fun

Here are some photos from my birthday. This year Sarah was totally into it. She woke up really early and went downstairs to make me a special card and picture. I loved her picture because it was of me and her at the table with my birthday cake. She drew the chandelier, the table and even the cake. I had to laugh at all the candles she put on my cake then she told me she ran out of room and couldn't put the rest on there....talk about feeling old! :) All in all it was a great day celebrated with Adam, the girls and mother. I even got a special birthday serenade by the girls.....it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Pumpkin time!

It's that time of year again. The girls and I went to Stone Mountain this past weekend and spent a few hours at Pumpkinfest. They had a variety of activities and crafts for the kids and afterwards we walked around the park looking at all the pumpkin people. Ansley was totally into it this year so I'm sure this is the first visit of many this month....we love Fall! Or I guess we should say we really love Fall activities!! :)

Lil performers

Sarah learned an apple poem at school and recently put on a show for us at home. Ansley of course tried to do the same thing. My favorite part is when Ansley pretends like she's chomping the apple. She seems to incorporate the apple chomp into every song or dance she does these days. I've also included the girls singing a song and yes....Ansley ends hers with the apple chomp :)

1st Science Fair

Sarah and our neighbor Cecilia

Last night was Sarah's very first Science Fair. Her question was: Can you change the color of a flower? Everything went very well last night which in code means.... our experiment worked! The test run we did about a month ago was a flop so this time we added more color to the water and it worked like a charm. There were a few older kids who did the same experiment and they had the same experience we did the first time so Sarah was excited that older kids were coming to check out her project. They ooh-ed and ahh-ed over her colorful flowers and she was so proud.

It's Definitely Fall Y'all

This afternoon the girls and I made yummy caramel apples. As a kid this was one of my favorite things to do with my mom and it definitely lets you know that Fall has finally arrived!
