Happy Birthday Ansley!

Yes, this is my very proud three year old. She had been looking forward to her birthday for weeks and having the Backyardigans as her theme and she was SO excited when the day finally arrived. We started the morning off at Chuck E. Cheese followed by lunch at Chick-fil-a. She proudly bounced around all day in her birthday shirt telling everyone that she was "free yeers ole." We had a small party at home this year but all the Backyardigans balloons made it feel like we had a crowd. The girls had swimming lessons that afternoon so I waited until they were gone to pull out everything and decorate. When Ansley walked in and saw all the balloons she was over the moon (whew, mission accomplished!) I held out hope that the cake topper would arrive in the afteroon mail but unfortunately it didn't. I looked at the clock and had about 15 min. to get the cake decorated so I grabbed some icing, threw it in a bag and tried my luck at decorating. I was so nervous and rushed, my hands were shaking like I was having withdrawals. Let me tell you, I have a whole new appreciation for people who decorate cakes! I'm still bummed that the cake topper didn't arrive because I had been planning this special cake for over a month and had been so excited about it. In the end it didn't matter because cutting it open and seeing all the bright colors made you forget about what it looked like on the outside (whew!) All in all it was a great day for Ansley!

Almost 3

I got tickled this afternoon because I came around the corner and found Ansley perched on top of the foyer chest like this.

She had pulled a chair up to the chest in the foyer and was laying on top of it writing on her birthday card. She was so excited today because she received a birthday card from her cousins and when I asked her what she was doing she told me she was writing them back. All afternoon she and Sarah have been aggravating each other to death so obviously she felt this was the only place she could safely get her "work" done. She won't be 3 until Monday but my baby is growing up! (sniff-sniff)

Rosie the hamster

Welcome Home Rosie

This past weekend in honor of Ansley's upcoming 3rd birthday, we caved and bought a hamster for the girls. I am still pinching myself each morning because I still cannot believe we consented to this. I have not actually held little Rosie yet which I know is hard to believe but hopefully I will get there soon. Fortunately I can just open the side of her cage and let her crawl into her ball on her own without having to actually hold her. Despite my lack of affection she really has it made. She will sleep all day long and right before bedtime the girls will play with her and give her treats. Then it's off to bed for the girls and Rosie has all night to play in her cage and stuff her little face. She has quite the life!

(Wendy you can see I used a clip on the gate...thanks for the tip!)

Rosie who?
Sarah really just wants you to see her Strawberry Shortcake tatoo.

Rosie in her new home on top of the dryer.

This might have been her"help get me out of here" climb.
Hopefully she won't try to execute this plan during the night.

She loves exercising on her wheel

Ansley is definitely Rosie's number one fan. Hopefully she will survie!
