Adventures of Joy and Noel: Part 6

The elfcapades have continued and we have all had so much fun with Joy and Noel.

One night I thought I heard something downstairs. The next morning we saw that the elves had been tubing all throughout the house while we were sleeping.

We went and spent a couple of days at Papa's house this week and took Joy and Noel. Papa didn't have any Christmas decorations so the elves took the liberty of decorating Papa's deer head with a Santa hat and a red ribbon nose! They must have been missing their friend Rudolph.

This morning we woke up and found that the elves left us stuff to make Christmas cookies with. The girls and I had so much fun baking and decorating cookies.

This afternoon we found that Joy and Noel had left some pre-Christmas goodies for the girls in their stockings.

On their very last night Joy and Noel enjoyed reading the stories in our Jesse Tree advent calendar. They are always reminding us that Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas so I'm sure they loved reading about the Christmas story.

Tonight as we leave cookies and Coca-Cola for Santa we say goodbye to our elf friends Joy and Noel. Like last year, Santa will pick them up when he delivers our toys and they will return with him to the North Pole. We have had a fun filled month and look forward to their return next year. We love you Joy and Noel!!

From the heart.....

The other day I was wrapping gifts at Papa's house and Sarah asked for a piece of paper. When I asked her why she needed paper (Papa doesn't really keep paper handy at his house) she said she wanted to write about Christmas. I handed her a scrap of wrapping paper and this is what she wrote:

As her mother it made me so very proud. In this busy season where alot of the time the world's focus is on Santa and presents, Sarah knows that the real meaning of Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus and His love for us. Just had to share :)

More Elfcapades from Noel and Joy:

This morning we woke up and the temperature was 12 degrees. Needless to say no one wanted to get out of bed but when we went downstairs, Joy and Noel had prepared us some hot cocoa. Their elf friends Holly and Merry in North Carolina sent them elf mugs so they shared some hot cocoa and cookies with us.

The elves decided to take a ride on Rudolph and Clarice. They brought the girls back some Rudolph and Clarice crazy pens to clip on their backpacks.

Boy this night the elves got a little silly. They stacked all of my sofa cusions and pillows on top of each other. Once they had made a tower, they took all the presents out from under the tree and had started stacking those on top. Silly elves!!

Adventures of Noel and Joy: Part 4

Day 10: We woke up this morning and found that puppy had eaten too many peppermint kisses. Fortunately Joy and Noel knew first aid and were able to help him.

Day 11: Noel and Joy decided to give Max a cottonball bubble bath last night. They even remembered to scrub behind his ears!

Day 12: Our elf friends must have been missing the snow at the North Pole because we woke up to find an elf winter wonderland on our kitchen table.

Adventures of Joy and Noel: Part 3

Things have really been hopping around here this month. Each morning the girls can't wait to wake up and find out what adventures the elves had while everyone was sleeping. It can be very exhausting for Adam and I having to wake up so early every morning but the smiles on their faces and the memories that are being made are absolutely PRICELESS! I wouldn't trade this time in their lives for anything in the world.

Night 7: Tonight the elves went to Who-ville with Grinchy and brought home his dog Max. They also brought us all a pair of Grinch socks! The girls are so excited to have Max here with us!!

Night 8: Last night Joy and Noel had movie night with Max and Jingles. When we woke up they were watching Shrek the Halls. They also brought us a new movie, ELF (How appropriate!)

Night 9: The elves decided to do a little 'gold-fishing' last night while we were all sleeping. Looks like they caught quite the catch!

Adventures of Joy and Noel: Part 3

Night 7: Tonight Joy and Noel teamed up with Scooby and the gang to help locate my missing keys. As usual, they solved the mystery of the missing keys and as they were celebrating with a Scooby snack, Noel got stuck in the box. Shaggy, Velma and Daphne were attempting to rescue Noel when we found them in the morning. Scooby of course was only focused on the snacks!

Night 8: Tonight the elves and friends helped deliver Adam's car. The girls woke up and couldn't find Joy and Noel anywhere. Before heading out for the bus Sarah discovered a note they left with Jingles the reindeer. It said for Daddy to look outside for a big surprise. Boy were we ever surprised!! How did they know how to drive? (Sarah's theory: they all rode to the car place on Rudolph and Clarice then one elf drove while the other pushed the gas pedal. WORKS FOR ME!! ;-)

Night 9: I am finding that these elves can be a big help around here when they want to. I am the cookie mom for Sarah's Daisy Scout Troop and last night I was working on my cookie packets. It was getting late and I was so tired, I left my mess all over the dining room table and went to bed. When we woke up this morning Noel and Joy had completely organized my cookie packets for me. They also left a note to PLEASE send a case of thin mints to them at the North Pole.
