Our trip to the Atlanta Zoo

As a pre-birthday activity, Ansley and I took a trip to the Atlanta Zoo the other morning. The weather was finally begining to warm up and it was nice for me to just focus on her for a change. We got there when the zoo opened so the animals were very active and we had the best time. She loved the flamingos, lions, giraffes and zebras but her very favorites were the monkeys and the gorillas....or as she called them the Ga-lill-ahs.

My Little Survivor

I've dubbed Ansley my little survivor because I feel confident that if she were ever in a situation (God forbid) like Home Alone, there would be no worries about her survival. She's constantly climbing up into the cabinets to get food and other goodies whenever she feels the notion and I know if she's not in a room with me then I need to check the kitchen! Last night she decided to play like a racoon again and climbed into the cabinet to get herself some oreos. Her plot was foiled when I busted her and following the tantrum of the century I thought I was brilliant in hiding the oreos under my bed. I should have known my little racoon would eventually find them! This afternoon we were all in the bedroom watching a show and I began to hear something rustling under the bed. We took a peek under the bed and this is what we found!

BUSTED again!

Happy Valentines Day

We have had a wonderful Valentines Day so far. The girls woke up and discovered their valentine goodies. Ansley was so excited to get her strawberry shortcake doll and coloring book that she squealed the entire time she was going through her basket. We then got dressed and went to our cousin Annabelle's 2nd birthday party. This was really Ansley's first party where she was totally independent in every way. I was very impressed and noticed that she is definitely ready to be two. Only one more month to go! I hope that everyone has a wonderful day today!!

Ta-dah, we're back!

We had an amazing weekend. It was nice and warm and sunny and we were finally able to get outside and enjoy the fresh air a bit. Adam bought a chariot to pull the girls behind the bike and both of them loved being able to ride together. We played outside in the back yard and everyone was happy and healthy so I couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend. We also got to see Mema and Grandaddy for a little while on Saturday morning so that was an extra bonus! While playing outback, I noticed that there were a few buds on our camellia bushes so hopefully this warm weather will stick around and Spring will come soon. Keep your fingers crossed!

Yes we are still alive

It's been almost a month since I've blogged and for good reason. My laptop crashed...burned...discenigrated...had a melt-down, and so I've been without a computer for over a week now and IT'S KILLING ME SLOWLY!! Fortunately my blackberry gives me access to some of my email but going without internet access is causing me to have severe withdrawels because I use the internet for everything. Right now I'm in the cold basement working on our old dinosaur of a computer but hey...it's got internet (for now) so I'm happy! I have some new pictures to post of the girls so hopefully the 3 week time date they gave us for my laptop will be pushed up a bit. Will update soon!!

Welcome to the family Evelyn Claire

Sarah and Evelyn (Evy) Claire Bittner born January 2, 2009

Yesterday we took Sarah and Ansley to Babyland General Hospital and came home with a new baby. Sarah officially adopted Evelyn (Evy) Claire right out of the cabbage patch. It was very exciting (especially for me!!) to watch the nurses get her ready in the nursery and then hand her out to Sarah. She has blue eyes and a sprig of blonde curly hair. Both Sarah and I took the oath to be a good mommy and Nana KK and we took her home. As we entered the hospital where you check in as a guest, they had a display of original "Little People" from the early 80's and I could swear Joyce Anita was the one sitting under the window. It looked JUST LIKE HER!! I would like to think that maybe whoever found her sent her back to Babyland General and I hope that was her. Some of you know the story of Joyce Anita but for purposes of not making anyone feel guilty (mother) I won't share it here. ;-) We all had a great day and I am so excited Sarah was able to experience this. It has been on my list of things to do if I ever had a girl and fortunately I was blessed with two of them. Ansley will have her turn in a couple more years and I can't wait!

I'm telling myself the girl with the ponytails under the window is Joyce Anita!

Being born in the cabbage patch

She's a healthy baby girl

Taking the oath of adoption

Sarah signed her name on the adoption papers
