Bible Presentation Sunday

Recently our church presented Bibles to all the first graders. They had a ceremony after church and Pastor Bryant Wright presented Sarah with her very first Adventure Bible. If you have young kids, this is an awesome Bible because it's geared down to their level and very easy for them to read. In usual fashion, I boo hooed but this time it was different because as each child proudly walked across the stage it was one more seed being planted for God's kingdom. It truly was a great day!

Hi there.....I'm sort of back :)

We've been MIA from the blog for a couple of months. Actually I feel like we've lost the last 3 months of our lives but I am hopeful that we are heading out of the fog and getting back on track to a "normal" life. I have definitely learned to live by faith daily and hope I've reached the expert level in this department. The most important things in life to me are my family, friends, and faith in God and even though walking it out may be tough, the end result will be WELL WORTH IT!

Both girls are in school and thriving, despite feeling at times like Holly (our van) is a RV. There is so much to catch up on but not having a computer to upload pictures to means it might be a little longer before I can chronicle everything here on the blog.

Sarah is taking baton and will be marching in the parade in a couple of weeks (that should be fun!), she is also looking forward to being a Daisy Scout with a troop from school. Between those activities and church choir, we stay very busy during the week which is good because it takes our minds off the fact that all of our belongings are in storage. BUT, despite all the trouble, we are very blessed and every day I thank God for this opportunity to lean on him fully.

The end of Hurricane season

Our swim team season has officially ended :( It's been a very fun and exciting time for all of us and looking back at all the pictures, Sarah has been beaming in just about every single one. I truly think this has been the most exciting and fun time of her life. She swam her little heart out each and every week and we couldn't be more proud of her. Ansley has decided that she wants to swim on the Little Gales team so we are looking forward to next year when both girls will be swimming for the Hurricanes!

Hottest swim meet E-V-E-R!!

Mema is in town so she was able to attend Sarah's swim meet with us today. It was hot as blazes and in usual fashion she was able to look good, even in the sweltering Georgia heat. Mom, why didn't I get that gene? ;) By the time it was over I looked like I had been through a car wash but it was well worth the 10 gallons of sweat because Sarah swam great and we were so proud to all be there together cheering her on.

The swim meet last night was a huge victory for Sarah and the rest of her teammates.

There were many events that had to be changed at the last minute and all the kids stepped up and swam their little hearts out. Originally Sarah was only scheduled to swim in the 25 meter front and back stroke but they needed her to swim with the relay team so she jumped right in and acted as if this was a regular event for her. I was so proud of her and she helped her team win 2nd place.

(by the way, Sarah's backstroke was beautiful this week. I would have recorded it but I was too busy screaming for her to kick her feet and use big arms. I really think this may be her best event.)

Swim Meet Success

The first ever swim meet was a success! Sarah was a bit nervous during warm ups because of the crowd and she was a bit hesitant right before it was her turn to race but she did it and we were all so proud!! She placed 3rd in the frontstroke and 4th in backstroke and by the end of her second run she was begging to race again. Papa came up for her swim meet and we were all so excited to have him here for her very first race!!!

The Big Day - GO Easthampton Hurricanes

Today is the big day, Sarah's first swim meet!

We don't know much since this is our very first swim meet but I think it's safe to say that she will be swimming the front and back stroke and possibly be part of a relay team. They have been practicing their starts off the dive blocks and it's so funny because they will be in dive position and either belly flop or get into some crazy position before hitting the water.

Sarah swims very gracefully and doesn't like to make a splash so we're hoping she kicks it up a notch and shifts into high gear tonight. I told her to just pretend a shark is after her and to swim as fast as she can to the wall. Hopefully we won't ever have this scene play out in real life!
