Expressing herself

I was reading Ansley a story this morning when Sarah walked up to me and tossed this into my lap.....without saying a word.

I DO NOT WANT YOU TO BOTHER ME MOM
now notice the frown on her face and a smile on mine...??????????

Apparently she is upset with me for some reason and honestly I do not know what I have done to warrant such a notice. It may have something to do with the fact that I told her I needed to clean the table off before she used it to do her project.....which I haven't done yet, or it may be because I forced her to put vaseline on her lips to keep her top lip from being so chapped. Whatever the case is, I have ticked her off. Hopefully this is the last notice I get like this!
* Apparently she was upset that I put the vaseline on her lip and didn't let her do it. She just asked for her sign back and she's all smiles now so all is happy in our world again :)

In memory of all those who lost their lives
on September 11, 2001

Please say a prayer for all those who lost loved ones in this horrific attack on our country eight years ago. Also, remember our flag. Remember what it stands for. Remember the principals that our country was founded upon. Remember all those who have fought and still fight today to maintain the freedoms that we have here in this great nation....the United States of America.
God Bless America
land that I love
stand beside her, and guide her
through the night with the light from above
from the mountains, to the prairies
to the oceans white with foam
God Bless America
my home sweet home
God Bless America
my home sweet home

Sister love

Translation:

Do not bother me. Ansley is bothering me. I do not want to be bothered.
Ansley is bothering me. Ansley Bittner do not do that so don't bother me Ansley.

THE "BACK TO SCHOOL I MISS SARAH" HONEYMOON IS OFFICIALLY OVER!

I found Sarah laying on top of the kitchen counter composing this notice to Ansley. I have a new job now starting every week day at 2:30......REFEREE. As I am typing this, one is in the time out chair and the other has chosen to go sit in the pantry. Good times!

Boosterthon Fun Run

Today was the finale of the school fundraiser and the anticipated Fun Run they have been building up to for two weeks now. Sarah has been SO excited about the run because they were all going to be wearing matching t-shirts, etc. She even woke up and got dressed extra fast this morning to show me she was ready for the run. Well........I don't know exactly what she had pictured in her mind but when it was actually time for her class to run through the wind tunnel with music and parents cheering them on, she went into meltdown mode. My first hint was when she held up the rest of the class by standing dead still in the tunnel and not wanting to exit. When she finally did emerge, she had her arms crossed around her chest and a huge frown on her face, indicating to everyone around her that she was not happy to be there. Adam and I almost died because everyone around her was cheering and so happy to be there. Sarah clearly was not! She protested and walked the entire time despite desperate attempts by both Adam and I to get her to cheer up, enjoy the moment, and have fun. It reminded me of the time in preschool when it was time for the christmas program and once she realized people were there to watch, she went into meltdown mode and never made it on the stage. I guess at least this time she got through it. Maybe by her senior year she will actually be smiling as she walks across the stage!
Not happy about the whole thing

Sarah WALKING during the jog-a-thon

Here is video I took of the very last lap......and of course Sarah is still walking. She doesn't start running until she gets her t-shirt marked and crosses the finish line....THEN SHE RUNS!

Ansley all grown up (or so she thinks) :)

Today Ansley is debuting her brand new hairstyle and I think it turned out so cute. I think it's really made her feel like a big girl!

I actually took both she and Sarah in this weekend for a cut and left wishing I had gone a bit shorter with Ansley's. After contemplating it yesterday I took her in this morning and we walked out with a shorter, more stylish cut. She's been talking about it all morning and wanting to go look in the mirror constantly so I think it's safe to say she loves her new look too!

Missing Sarah.....

What a sad little face.......This is pretty much how Ansley feels now that Sarah has gone back to school. A little lost maybe without having her big sister to play and argue with? It's interesting for me to see how the tides have suddenly changed. Before school started Sarah had no influence whatsoever over her but this week I've noticed that she is totally putty in Sarah's hands. I will hear conversations like this....

S: Ansley, wanna go get sissy's flip flops?
A: Yeah
S: Ansley, will you go get my crayons?
A: Yeah
S: Ansley, wanna jump off the couch? (knowing this is against the rules!)
A: Yeah
S: Ansley, can I have your goldfish?
A: ok

The most amazing part is that Ansley would have never done any of these things before. If anything, she would know what Sarah was going for then race to get it first and claim it for her own. She was always the one who most of the time got HER way on everything because Sarah was such a push over. Now I'm sure after about another week the sadness will go away and she will come to enjoy having everything all to herself but secretly, it warms my heart to know that there really is a great love between the two.

Today is the Day!

Sarah is officially a kindergartener now.......woo hoo!! The morning went very smoothly and even though we woke up an hour before the bus arrived, it still felt like there would be no time for error in the future. Sarah was very excited this morning and didn't seem really nervous until we were at the bus stop but she played it off quite well. Once the bus got there she got in line with the rest of the kids (there were at least 20 at her stop alone) and boarded the bus like she was a pro. We were so very proud of her and look forward to hearing all about her very first day in Kindergarten!

I can't believe my baby is in kindergarten!

Ready for the bus

I think she may have a been a little nervous here but she didn't back out

Off she goes!
